Legislating morality is not the problem. Nobody says "separation of church and state" when a theist is arguing against gay marriage or abortion. Only when theists try to teach creationism in schools, have religious figures displayed on government property, or deny atheists government offices because it's against state law. That's when we say "separation of church and state."

Why do we fight so adamantly against something we don't believe in? Well, how would you like the doctrine Islam being taught in schools, intertwined with politics and government? When your representatives must end each speech with "Allah bless America" and your dollar bills stamped with "In Muhammad We Trust." You wouldn't like that would you? Neither do we.

I agree with the first half but you can't legislate morality. Just because it's a law doesn't mean evil doesn't exist. Anyone who believe getting the law on your side is what really matters is decieved. Get out and reach people for Christ.
