Inside a Local Thai Girl's Bangkok Apartment (TRUE Cost of Living 2023!)

In this video, my sister Top takes us on a full tour of her apartment in Bangkok, Thailand. She has a very affordable one bedroom apartment, and although it's not big (around 28sqm or 300 sq ft), the building has many nice amenities like a big pool, boxing room, coworking space and yoga studio. It's also close to BTS Bearing so it's very easy to move in and out of Bangkok. I think this building is a great choice for this budget range, so if you're looking for a new apartment in Bangkok be sure to check this one out. I stayed in this exact place for 1 month back in August 2021 right after I got out of self isolation. I've stayed in at least 7-8 other places in the Bangkok area since then and this was by far my fav place that I've stayed at!

Nice condo. The exact distance from building to BTS Bearing is actually 400 meters which is ok. The price from BTS Bearing to BTS Siam is currently 62 bath which is 1.76 USD, so to get back you will pay 124 baht or 3.52 USD total. Per month, it will cost you additional 105 USD just for one BTS ride daily (to Siam and back). It takes around 25 minutes from BTS Bearing to BTS Siam. Another 25 minutes to get back. So, in most cases it will take you minimum an hour per day for transportation which means that in a month you will waste 30 hours in transport or 1 whole day and 6 hours. Minimum. Just for that one distance. Now, the question is: why would you pay 255 USD (9, 000 baht) for a condo that will cause you to waste so much time (which will definitely wear and tear you off quickly) when there is a bunch of similar if not better condos in central Bangkok for 300 USD (10, 500 baht) or 350 USD (that's 12, 300 baht) and everything is much faster reachable and you don't waste days in transportation? Oh, and btw, this condo is not in Bangkok, it's actual location is Samut Prakhan which is another province. So the final verdict: this might not be good for you if you are tourist and if you want to explore Bangkok everyday. If you are Thai, then it depends where you work, so it might work well for you. This is just my opinion. It might sound negative but it was not what I was going for. I just wanted people to know that Bangkok is really huge city, much bigger in population and in area than any other North American or European city, so it might be important for you to know this info. No one really enjoys spending so much time in traffic - every single day. That's why this condo is 'cheap'. But it actually is not. It will tire you very quickly and it will ruin your experience in Bangkok which is truly amazing world class city.

It's a very good price for full facilities and very close to metro system.Yeah it's a little bit far from downtown but only 30-40 mins to the city center by BTS.Bangkok has so many choices of accomudations for local workers and international expats.

Great video, girls - thanks for showing us around. I think it's actually a really neat and cute apartment in a nice clean building with outstanding facilities (pool would sell it to me). Totally understand why it'd make it worth living there and a bit further away from the center as long as you got such nice facilities and condo for such a good price. Enjoy your life!
