My Greek friend, Margarita, introduced me to this beautiful melody. I didn't understand a word of what Sofia Vempo was singing, but I could "feel" very deeply the sorrow, the fear, the love, and a hint of hope in her voice. It is one of the most beautiful melody I've heard in a while, so I just want to try to re-produce it on the piano, and to capture the complex emotions through the piano keys.

With Margarita's help, I have put English subtitles to each of the Greek phrases I played, so that non-Greek speakers can better appreciate the beauty of this sweetly sorrowful, classic song.
