They don't see the shahada, they see a flag. You can't blame the DJs. They're doing their thing and to them, it is the peoples flag the have on display. They probably don't even know what it means or represents.
While it is apprehensive to think of what is happening, we know that we aren't surprised. No part of the world will be untouched except Makkah and Madina. Even then, if memory serves me correctly, they will have hypocrites mixed in with the genuine people of those cities but will eventually pour out of them.

The best role models like the stars in the sky were formed in this beautiful nation. They taught us how to strive in the way of Allah. They sacrificed their lives in the way of Allah. The sand in this place is pure because it was tread upon by the best of mankind and the soil in this place is fragrant because it was mixed with the blood of great personalities. Even though it has been informed from the words of our Prophet that such evils would be happened at the end times, it is so heart wrenching to witness such things happening in front of us. Definitely we are going to see a lot of trials in the near future. May Allah make us steadfast in his deen.
