Honestly this is huge. I wanted to make a They Are Billions style game in Unreal.
And I had discarded skeletal meshes for any of the units because of how much more efficient Nanite meshes are.
If this pans out, I may have to take some of the concepts back from the closet.

So kick ass ! So you could do a "film detail'' Cybertron type hard surface environment, with high poly spaceships in the background and then film resolution robots battling on the surface in UE5 in Nanite. So cool ! I mean on movies if you load a scene like that in 3DS max, Houdini or Maya it's all just proxy geometry and then you have to send it to render for 60hrs per frame. The fact this could work real-time, is so amazing.

Vertex Animation Manager Plugin can do Nanite with animations being fully on the GPU, you can do 1000s of characters this way

The next update needs to be translucent material like glass to be nanite supported

One thing to consider with the framerate is that since you're not using a animation blueprint, all those animations are running on the game thread, where as Animation Blueprints have the option of running on other threads. But this is experimental, no need to worry about that framerate
