I am from France and I used to always notice this bracelet on people when I was young. They were very discreet, classy old money type of people and much older. When I got my Love bracelet I was told "The first scratch hurts the most. The second scratch stings, After that you'll be fine". I've set off the metal detector at the airport, but they quickly realized it was because of the bracelet. They just made me go through the body scan machine.
