I'm going to pin this comment since it seems like there's some confusion on the MGA Affiliate Program.
The Makeup Geek Academy is NOT an MLM and will never be an MLM.  

For influencers that want to promote our Academy, we have an incentive in place for them as well as anyone they connect us with. This is a referral program we have in place for influencers and brands that want to promote our school. This is the exact same format we have had for many years with Makeup Geek. If any content creator has talked about Makeup Geek and has helped grow that business, they deserve to have commission if they have made sales. That's the least we can do to thank them for being part of the brand's growth.

In addition to commissions being made, I plan on providing valuable knowledge to any affiliates that will help them grow their own personal brands and social media following with things I've learned in my 15+ years experience as a content creator myself, and as a brand owner. My goal is to support all of our affiliates in whatever capacity that they need to help them be successful for THEMSELVES and their personal goals. 

I will do a video soon walking through the program in person with you all to see the community, the affiliate program, and the academy itself so it makes sense. I apologize if any wording on our site came across as an MLM, but that is NOT the strategy or business model we are following.

After looking into this more, I'm realizing you've started a Multi-level marketing company. This is so disappointing. As someone who has been a content creator and a business owner for so long Marlena I'm assume you know how unethical and dangerous multilevel marketing companies are as a whole.
before anyone says I am a hater, ive loved makeup geek products for a long time and admired Marlena even longer, as a business owner and an OG in our industry. This is a MLM, youre able to sign up as an affiliate and then also have others sign up under you and make money off of their sales/work and your own. Cut and dry thats a MLM. Network Marketing, Direct Sales, Social Selling, Multilevel marketing, whatever you want to call it, it's all the same. Unethical business practices that are recruitment based foster a community of manipulation, love bombing, misinformation, and cult tactics.. all for an average profit of $0 industry-wide (per the FTC).

Hi Marlena. I’ve been watching and subscribing to your channel for years now. I am grateful to you for your knowledge of the industry and for providing info on products and ingredients of cosmetics. I was sad to hear of the closing of MUG and hoped your new venture would be a good one. I also have followed you through the personal rough times and sincerely empathized with you during your miscarriages (why you still choose to live in Texas after that boggles my mind). I was sincerely hoping your next business venture would be a good one. Watching this video turned my stomach. Honestly this reeks of a MLM/Pyramid Scheme company. I know you have to make a living and earn money for your family, but in my opinion this is NOT the way. Starting an MLM/PS does not empower - it actually financially enslaves people, as the top 1-2% of the earners actually make a decent profit. Also, Who has 3/k - 6/k to learn how to use makeup?
