Honestly I agree, Doom 3 was the bad third sequel of the franchise. It had potential, but Carmack's "Envision" bastardized the game to the point where it became more like a cheap take on a survival horror title than Doom. If you want something that feels like a proper 3D sequel to Doom, just play Quake.
