Your mapped drive may disconnect after a system reboot if the Fast Startup of your system is enabled. Moreover, corrupt credentials in the Windows Credential Manager may also cause the error under discussion. Yep, it was a windows credential. Had older versions there too. deleted them all, rebooted, added the current one, it works. big hassle now gone. Thanks!
