Wait, I'm goofy footed (and a righty), but I don't understand what's so bad about it. Isn't right-left-right the same thing as left-right-left. I'm new to volleyball, so this whole "proper approach" thing scared me bc I have my first tryout in 2 days, and I can't just switch my footwork. It's like trying to write with my left hand when I'm a right-handed person. I heard it's about the way you open up your shoulders to the court, but if you're goofy footed, wouldn't it prove to be better on the opposite side of the court? Also, I start with my arms forward on the first step, anyway. Does that make it okay? If anyone comes across this comment, even though it's pretty late, can you please help me understand this?

just explaining is not really helpful for learners. They need to see it... Why didn't the players give some good examples?
