I would buy two, and set them next to each other. I knock out the two side by side walls, and connect the two. Then I would take the sink and toilet out of the one, and make it into a bedroom. The other, I'd put a stand up box shower next to the toilet. On the other side of the stand up box shower, put your washer and dryer hook ups. Keep the kitchen sink that's already in it, and put your stove and gas lines in. Hang son cabinets. Go buy some TV trays and no need for a big kitchen table. Build a big paver patio in the back, and put a gas grill and brick oven. Build a frame roof and screen it all in. Put some patio furniture and a small bar. Put a flat screen t.v. out there with a pool table. Now you have a complete bachelor pad for about $60k. Yes I have already priced it all. $16k for the two homes, and $30k for the rest of it all. It's a good investment. If you don't want the outdoor set up, then about $26k for it all. Still a good bargain either way. And I know how to do all the work myself, so no need to hire contractors. Just need to get the building permits and go with it.

I'm in my mid 30s, living with my mom in Miami. I have a full time job and still cant afford basic living and I don't ever see myself achieving much financial success in life. I bought a travel trailer to live in but it started falling apart due to termites shortly after I purchased it used. Now I'm back to square one. I'm looking at options for my future. This is for survival, not for fun.

I want to rent my house out by the room and live in a tiny house in the back yard. It appears that in my county and state, as long as you are the landowner you can live in a building or shed that does not meet code. However, you cannot rent it out or let other ppl stay in it.
