Drought In Spain: Catalonia Declares Drought Emergency

Показать описание
A canoe that was once used for recreational purposes now rests in a dry part of the Sau reservoir near the Church of Sant Romà in Vilanova de Sau, Spain. The Sau reservoir, in the province of Barcelona, is at its historical minimum, 5.1 percent of capacity, whilst one year ago they were at approximately 19 percent. Authorities have already applied regions with restrictions on supply, whilst other locations have seen the delivery of water by truck. On Thursday, February 1, Catalonia declared a drought emergency with restrictions on water use affecting around six million people. | January 31, 2024 | #GettyImages #GettyImagesNews #Spain
