November 11, 2018 will mark 100 years since the signing of the Armistice to end World War I. To commemorate the event, I was asked if I would present one of the loveliest songs to come out of that war. Here is "Roses of Picardy", written by Frederic E. Weatherley and Hadyn Wood. It was recorded by John McCormack on January 13, 1928.
This is a recording from McCormack's Electrical Era. The complete recordings from 1925-1942 will be issued on a 16 CD set with the transfers being done by recording restoration expert, Ward Marston.

Well, this version is just as wonderful as the 1919 version, but in a different way. Perhaps, a more mature understanding of it musically. Thanks for posting them both.

I'm fairly new to youtube and viewing this from my phone. Could you give me the info from the tail end of the video about a boxed set?
