Detroit native Illa J is a rapper, singer, producer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, former member of Slum Village – and younger brother of the late hip hop icon J Dilla. Collaborating with the JD3 band, he captures the intimate essence of conscious rap, soul and jazz, performing „12 AM“ (taken from his 2018 album „John Yancey“) at Red Bull Music Studios Berlin.
