Azj-Kahet - Music of WoW: The War Within

This is the music for Azj-Kahet, the main zone for the nerubians in the War Within.

I love the use of strings in a lot of these themes. I expected to hear a lot of string plucking to fit the spider-theming, but I wasn't expecting the more poignant uses of violin and cello. That stuff is great.

"Weaver's Lair" really reminds me of Jake's venthyr themes from Shadowlands, mainly the "Revendreth Sired" theme. The violin goes crazy in both of those themes, and I love it.

Speaking of Shadowlands, it seems Grant Kirkhope has made a return with his "Pillar Nest" theme. Not gonna lie, I'm kinda surprised to see him again. Although, I'm not sure if this is something recent he composed for War Within, or if it's an unused theme he composed for Shadowlands that they decided to use now. Either way, it's still neat.

His "Pillar Nest" theme really reminds me of his music from Revendreth and Maldraxxus, mainly the "Ritual Decay" theme.

Azj-Kahet was my fave zone and music. Had a very dark elven vibe to it, right down to the decadent surroundings, the music and the architecture. Crawling Chasm B, Silken Path A and Pillar Nest H are my fave of the lot.
