This piece looks marvellous in the sun, all those polished chamfers on the bracelet, with the smaller links compared to the original 0036.

It’s a toolwatch but with all those polished edges, just lovely.

I agree the NH35 is a letdown, they really should just invest in a couple NH38, maybe push the NH35 to their cheaper offerings.

On mine, I couldn’t hear any off sounding noises or background ping.
What I found in regards to the bracelet, when you feel horizontally on the links, there are sharper edges on the individual parts of each link.

The new clasp, which is a first for me, looks nice and chunky!
There is a weird hexagonal imprint of sorts around the logo of the claps, maybe that’s formte application process, idk doesn’t bother me too much, only noticeable when you look for it.
I found the handling of it a bit tedious, Seestern/Sugess' implementation is better.

The lume is decent i agree, but I think you lose some nighttime legibility due the hands being this skeletonised. The hour hand is fine, but the minutehand gets lost quickly in between the or on an index.

In general, this is the perfect homage/original design, sure you find inspiration here and there but it’s original enough that no one would take a glance at it and say 'is that a Planet ocean?'.

I would like to see a fully lumed bezel. San Martin seems to dislike that in general, it’s so rare on their pieces.
And I feel like, they should engrave the bottom cover or emboss it; where is the lovely shark?
Even the cheapest quartz have some specs on it…
I don’t need drilled lugs, I’d rather have quickrelease springbars!

I just found these here locally in Philippines for 13k pesos or 180 British Pounds, I think I will buy it and especially I’m in love with bracelet and not planing changing it to strap so for me shouldn’t be any issues, right ahhahaha

Got to admit Zeb That one’s Nice.I’ve always been a fan of San Martin and they are certainly keeping other Micro brands on their toes.
I also agree with the use of NH38 Movements as the NH35 is getting a bit long in the tooth even if it is a work horse and reliable.🙏👍⌚️

Thanks for the great review! Gives me my Kamasu vibes with probably about 5 times better finishing and 10 times better clasp. I look forward to San Martin branching out more and more to original to originalish designs.

I missed this video! Thanks Zee. It's a very good looking watch, looks much more expensive than the price suggests. I agree on the NH35, should be NH38 but I could live with it. Nice bracelet too. My old ears probably won't hear that high pitched ring on the bezel anyway! The HEV is unnecessary but I must admit it actually looks very nice on the case.

When they put their minds to it SM make a stunning watch. It seems to utilise Seikos case size magic it wears smaller than it’s dimensions would suggest.

Skeletenised hands are lacking in contrast against the dark colour of dial. Arguably, as a tool watch, more readability is preferable, but hey gorgeus watch. Love the fume dark blue with the black bezel❤.

I'm liking how this looks on wrist. I was a bit worried about the male endlinks but can see that it doesn't protrude very far and it slopes down and since you have a stated 6.5" wrist and I am just shy of 7" then it should fit fine on me. As for the movements, I am happy with NH35 because I have the tools to do movement swaps, and the NH35 seems to be far more readily available from mod stores, so if/when the movement goes bad after years of use I can swap it myself for another one.

Great review. I would still like a little more excitement from the dial. Maybe more aggressive fume on the dial face?! That would put it over the top for me!

This one just isn't doing it for me I can't quite put my finger on it but it's a no go for me Although I am seeing great mod potential possibly a GMT and the price is actually quite tolerable so I can't completely write this one off Yet Anyways another fantastic honest review as always my friend Be well and Stay Frosty 👍
