Would have preferred a draftable product that is more like TSR than a premium priced product that is only the cards from the two most recent standard sets.

I generally like most wotc products but I do think this may have been a miss. I'd like to know why introduce a set that is basically just the prior 2 that are still in standard? The price is not any cheaper as each pack is a bit over double the standard pack price. Is this just an experimental 1 time thing? Is it purely to have the black and white versions or what exactly? I know not every product is made for everyone but honestly baffled by this.

I hope the negative reaction to this product, and the reasons why it was negatively received have been heard loud and clear.
The idea of a curated combo draft is nice. The idea of a unique card treatment is nice. The idea of a unique foil treatment is nice. But the set wasn't curated, the treatment doesn't feel unique at all (and actively makes playing with the cards worse), and the foils really don't look good imo. I would have paid the premium on an actually curated draft experience, or an Innistrad remastered, or treatments that actually evoke black and white horror movie imagery, but we didn't get that. The core idea behind this product was fine (even if a bit too soon after set releases), but the execution was thoroughly lacking.

This set was a huge miss. Instead of curating from ALL innistrad sets instead we get...black and white versions of cards we just had sold to us.

I've been a loyal Magic player across multiple formats since Shadows over Innistrad and I usually draft each set even if I don't crack packs or involve myself in the Standard format at the time. Between Alchemized Historic and this, this will be the first 2-3 month cycle where I haven't involved myself even slightly with drafting or playing standard/standard set cards.

WoTC please note that goodwill IS REALLY a finite resource.

The problem with Odric isn't that he comes in, does his thing, then sits there. The issue is that he comes in, does nothing, then sits there. You could've at least given him one keyword. He's basically a Nessian Courser at rare.

Sadness. Double price tag for a normal booster with 1 extra rare that looks significantly worse than the normal cards.

Honestly I find it rather insulting that this product is being promoted as something to be excited for in any way. What an absolute scam of a product. For shame WotC!

The cards looks better than I imagined. Still, and as constructive criticism: I would have preferred if this kind of products would be more curated Time Spiral Remastered style and not all the cards from both sets. Thanks for everything Gavin and I hope the comment section would be respectful!

I don't want to add to the vitriol, but I am so curious about this product. This product feels so off, I'm curious if something went wrong in development? I love innistrad, I love Magic and I love horror movies, so this product should be for me but the price, the look of the cards, the card selection, the draft environment... I can't imagine how this product was made and thought would be a good thing to offer your customers.

Let's talk about it:

0 curation - the color pairs care about totally different things in both sets. You promised a curated set and then delivered a +700 card pile of dump.

You mentioned the border at the start of this video. Being able to tell what color the cards are has never been a key selling point. That is a fundamental of the game. And this poor excuse for a boarder fails in execution. The majority of the card is black and white and no one can tell what colors are represented a few turns into a game. Is that a black card or an artifact? Is that a white card or a foil? Who knows. It's so awful to play with and against.

You harped on this product helping WPN stores. But you turn around and sell direct to consumer on Amazon. On top of that, the wpn status is so difficult to get, that only a small percent of stores qualify.

My store is premium and I went to the prerelease, but most people left early. The draft was a pile of trash that had no synergy and the gameplay was more that frustrating trying to balance night and day, transforming, token generation in a set with tokens in the packs, tracking counters, and a homogeneous treatment that is sold to us at premium price. We could have done a modern horizons draft for this price. Think about it....

Why weren't there alternate arts? Why didn't we get horror movie poster treatments to chef's kiss the flavor? Why was there no curation? Your announcement post literally listed curation as a feature. Why did you greyscale the entire set? Did you not playtest and realize the frustration players experience when being unable to distinguish identities?

What a failure in mine and many magic the gathering players' books....

There's a LOT of upset Magic player's about THIS set. Rightfully so. Wizard's really dropped the ball on this one. As a long time MTG player and customer, there's no way I'll purchase any of this product. $9.99/ pack is WAY over the top. Extremely upset with this product.

This is one of the worst products wotc has ever made. These combination draft sets have so much potential and it's just mind boggling how that was wasted to make a quick cash grab 0 effort product.
