Jim is a human being. And he was fed up playing the role he’s been assigned by the vacuous world of Hollywood. I worked in camera for over 2 decades on films and it can be soul crushing working in this environment. Imagine, millions of people idolizing and projecting this perfect idea of who they think these actors are. He knows he isn’t that person. And he’s saying don’t put me on the pedestal. I don’t want to fall that far.

I've seen Jim Carrey on plenty of surface-level, invasive shows like this... he plays along, smiles and makes jokes to avoid questions. Here, there's no bullshit, he totally (and politely) drops the act. Respect.
