Intestinal nematodes are classified into roundworms, hookworm, whipworm, and pinworm. Starting from the roundworm Infection, ascariasis is discussed initially which is caused by Ascaris lumbricoides. The nematoda roundworms resemble earthworms. Ascaris lumbricoides morphology illustrates that it is elongated tapering to both ends, anterior being thinner than posterior.

In severe ascariasis diseases, the clinical features presented by the patient are intrahepatic abscesses, acute appendicitis, gallstones, cholangitis, Acute Pancreatitis or Chronic Pancreatitis. Its diagnosis is made by using Clinical Radiology techniques such as ultrasound, endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography along with microscopic detection of Ascaris eggs.

For the removal of Intestinal Obstruction, the treatment of ascariasis includes the use of drug therapy as well as surgical intervention.

Hookworms are nematode parasites that usually get transmitted through infested soil. Ancylostoma duodenale and Necator americanus are the principal species that cause intestinal nematode infections in humans. Hookworm nematode life cycle begins when the filariform larva penetrates into the skin and causes Infection in the Blood stream, lungs, trachea, pharynx, and leading to the small intestine.

Its treatment is accomplished by the administration of Antihelminthic Drugs, oral iron, and nutritional support.
