GRID 2 [HD] 720p PC gameplay the first 15 minutes of the game with keyboard and maximum graphic settings. Difficulty chosen is hard. In the first 15 minutes of the game, the first race is the intro race at Chicago Riverside with a 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1. 2nd race is at the New Union Race California Raceway Pacific Way with the same car. 3rd race is at the Trans America Pacers Chicago Marina City Face Off Race with a Nissan Fairlady Z Version S TT.

GRID 2 is a sequel to Codemaster's Race Driver GRID, one of the best modern racing games in 2008.

I loved Race Driver GRID 1 back then, simply because it manages to combine arcade handling with a simulation feel. It's damage system is fantastic too with parts flying off, I remember back then when your door is open, the aerodynamics changed drastically. It's much better than Need For Speed's damage system where all you get is a loose bumper and couple of scratches.

So how is GRID 2? The graphics is definitely impressive. From the shadows to the lightings and how leaves blew across the road. The smoke from drifting and the dirt dust kicking out, it all looks great! I manage to maintain a smooth 30 FPS while recording, as compared to MW 2012 which is totally not consistent. The damage system is still as visually impressive as scratches and parts slowly fall off and it will affect your performance.

Now for the handling, when they first showed the drift style handling, I wasn't a fan of it. It's not what GRID 1 used to be. But after trying it, it still manages to have that arcade simulation feel like the first game, you can definitely play with a keyboard just like back then in GRID 1. The handling is quick and easy to learn. Even with the drifting physics, you still need to slowdown and you need the combination of drift and grip for the best line and exit speed. Codemasters did a great job in balancing the drift and grip physics, and thank goodness they are not taking the Need For Drift path. I also like it when your car hits the curb, 2 wheels lifted off!

Overall a great modern racing game, it manages to live up to the sequel which what makes the first game so great. A little bit sad that they remove the cockpit view though.
