Ascend FS12T Kayak Review for Scuba diving

Hi everyone, I am still working on learning my new editing program, so once the dive begins and I fire up the Genesis 600 you may need to turn down the volume a bit.
As the title says I show how I set up my Kayak to dive from it. I hope you enjoy, feel free to ask questions.

Well now mokpot you have sparked some interest in a kayak for myself. That is some thing I could do. I am about 2 blocks from the river here. I have a vehicle that can carry a kayak. And they usually are not too terribly expensive. Maybe even on sale this time of year. Will have to look into the weight of them. I would assume not too heavy with out dive gear in them. Will walk down to see how deep the river is this time of year. Might be too low. Not sure how much water depth is needed. Some thing to look into. Getting some one to pick me up at the end destination might be tricky. Then again I could always go kayaking at the reservoir about 10/12 miles away. Thanks for sharing this information. Now all my huge yard projects are finally done I will have more time to play.

Great setup! Definitely going to be my winter project is restoring an old boat I have to be the treasure ship so i can get around a little easier. Have you played around with side imaging at all?

Smart to strap everthing down. I was fishing in my cheapo walmart kayak in late spring this year. had my kayak loaded down. got about 40 ft. off the bank and leaned alittle to far to one side. Swoosh, flipped the sucker! Luckily everything was strapped down. I swam the thing back to shore, loaded everything up and went home FREEZING! Lol.

I read somewhere else that it’s good to clip your bcd (and dpv?) to the side opposite the one you’re entering from - this way the kayak has a counter balance. Of course it could just mean you go all the way over!

Always wondered how much maintenance does you propeller motor take & how is it powered ?? Electric ??

It looks like you started out at the Willow Creek entrance, I used to go there a lot with my rafts and also used to go 4x4ing there before they closed it all off. I duck bum[ed my in the butt going up the creek and scared he heck out of me!!!

Question, are you able to get into your kayak from the water, I realize you said you flipped it once just wondering if it’s like those other kayaks people use when diving off the ocean, thanks

I fish out of the same kayak. Its a fairly stable platform.
