The CMC Rope Rescue Technician I/II course is an information-packed 40-plus hour experience designed to build technicians ready to return to their agency as functional and safe members of a technical rescue cadre.

The course gives the opportunity to show proficiency in many of the requisite job performance requirements as outlined in Chapter 5 of NFPA 1006. This course is packed with fundamental material for rescuers in Fire Departments, Industrial, Mountain or Law Enforcement teams.

Students will be taught:
Equipment standards, selection, inspection, and maintenance
Knots and hitches
Anchors
Mechanical Advantage Systems and theory
Raising, Lowering, and Belay Techniques
Rappelling and passing knots on rappel
Patient packaging, litter rigging, and litter tending
Stranded person pickoffs
Safety factors, fall factors, and consequences

Students should be prepared for both classroom discussions and full days of physical activity.
