Jimmy Fallon Discusses How He and Jimmy Kimmel Pulled Off Switching Places | WWHL

Jimmy Fallon says he and Jimmy Kimmel had been planning to switch places on their shows for seven years, revealing that neither one of them asked executives from their respective networks and they planned the whole thing in secret. Jimmy goes on to say he doesn’t know how they’ll top that April Fools' plan this year.

Honestly, Kimmel was left out to dry with the swap because he was expected to carry on doing Fallon's bits whereas Kimmel's writers took care of Fallon and they had a pre-taped segment with him surprising guests. Kimmel's show overall has better writing and better produced bits. Fallon's popularity is centered more around his charisma and likeability.

I highly doubt that they both didn't get clearance from some executives up top of both networks for permission... it's one thing to be a guest for an interview on another network but totally different to do what they did without making sure it was OK... if they didn't get the okay and just did it, that could of been career suicide for both of the Jimmy's and all the producers of each shows
