Fact: The middle finger gesture came from olden times when archer soldiers were captured by their enemies they would often get their middle fingers cut off to prevent them from shooting accurately with their bows. The archers that were not captured or were able to escape would raise their middle fingers to mock the enemy and show that they still had theirs.
