Looks like some ones been hammering their finger nails. Made me laugh when you said at the end too use your fingernails to undo the knot. My brain said I bet he doesn't use that knackered nail ha ha.

Nice. I use a Marlon Spike to undo knots that are bound up or too stiff. But pounding it is good, too. It's kinda like banging a jar lid on the bench if the lid is too tight. Cheers

If you dont have a something smooth to bang on the knot with, use your teeth, but don't cut it like with fishing line, waste the rope that way, plus there's all the frey.
