I was blown away by the resolution in the 4K, especially for a 40-year-old film shot with softer anamorphic lenses. Every glint in Yaphet Kotto's eyeballs when he says "Whatever it was, it was big" is stunningly crisp.

Like the intro man. Alien is an absolute classic that never get's old. Why, because all the shots in the movie especially the interior never look dated in my opinion. This 4k version look beautiful and worth the fifteen dollars.

Great do ya think it compares to an upscaled standard release of Alien?? In my opinion it's one of the best blu rays out ther for a remasterd film.

I love the directors cut alone the scene the ALIEN over Harry Dean hanging is the best out of the directors cut

I don't agree with the assessment that the picture quality on this was phenomenal - but this is actually the first time I'm buying this on a home video format (if you can believe that), so I don't have the Blu-ray or lesser versions to compare. On my Samsung WITH HDR10+, the transfer looked murky, milky and just not punchy.

The audio sucked too; the DTS-HD MA track was thin, hollow and shrill in some parts. Even the opening Fox logo comes across like an old TV transmission in terms of audio - muffled, trapped and very weak.
