Radiator leak repair using JB water weld

This vlog is about fixing my Jeep Liberty Radiator Leak. The Leak is coming from the plastic part of the radiator. I use JB water weld that I bought at Canadian tire. JB weld have different types of product like for extreme heat, for steel, for plastic. Jb water weld works on, fiberglass, PVC plastic, copper, brass, iron and aluminum and can resist water, oil, gas, diesel, hydraulic fluids and other chemicals with the strength of 900PSI and can withstand 300°F. My initial try failed but after my 2nd try and pressing JB weld hard to penetrate the crack of the plastic then let it cure for 24 hours worked. This is actually done last year and no problem with the leak even after 10,000km run.

I used this stuff on a metal coolant line leak. It held until yesterday. Almost 4 years. Hard to get it to stick - especially with difficult access I had. Need to be completely dry and sand area as best you can. Was impressed with how long it held.

I used the high temp jb weld to fix my oil pan. Some homeless person tossed a brick in the street at night where were no lights. I had just bought my 2004 VW beetle. Its held for 2 years. Im now having a radiator leak going from the hose to a metal piece thats goes into the engine. I just slapped some of the water jb weld on and im hoping for good results.

Ok but did you shut off the engine and check if it leaks again ?? When the engine is shut off the pressure builds up alot more than when you're reving the engine at 4000 rpm!!

I'm going to try this on my is300 heater core return pipe. The whole dash has to come out to replace it so I'd really like to not do that.

My ladyfriend got a leak between the top plastic tank and the crimp that holds the top onto the coils. I’ve swapped out many radiators, so like a dumbass I volunteered to change hers.

Little did I know that on a ‘05 Mazda 6S (3.0L V6) the WHOLE FRONT END OF THE CAR NEEDS TO BE REMOVED TO GET THE RADIATOR OUT!

Going to try the Water Weld today because @&#% that! Will update.

This kind of stuff might buy you time, but trust me from experience it's not a long term solution. The plastic and the heat cycles eventually mean the leak returns. The amount of labor wasted trying this fix and you're halfway to replacing a radiator in many cases.

Is JB much stronger than metal epoxy adhesive, which is a mixture of two adhesives (hardeners)?

How did you clean it off? I did the same thing but I don’t think I cleaned it well enough first because it leaked. I’m gonna try again like you did

Is this only for the plastic part of the rad or I can be used on the iron/steel/aluminum portion as well? I have a crack on top of my rad and want to know if this is the right one to use.

Which product would be more effective, a liquid or a solid?

My leak is in the top corner on the inside where one of the tubes goes into the side. Very hard to get to on account of the cooling fins. I hope this stuff holds up because a new radiator for this thing is $200 and has to be ordered.
