Every generation needs to strive to surpass previous one: Chan Chun Sing

What makes Singapore stand out? Education Minister Chan Chun Sing said a key element is having every generation of Singaporeans striving to surpass the previous one. And to do that, he is calling on young Singaporeans to deal with issues head-on and make their mark. At the Pre-University Seminar held at National Junior College, Mr Chan highlighted current challenges that are likely to persist, including international tensions and climate change. But he said having the right mindset and attributes like curiosity, connectedness, and confidence provide an edge.

Yong generations must take initiative to expose to new knowledge and experience. This practice makes them more knowledgeable than old generation.

We strive, whether we surpass is another thing. How do I feel? In the 1990s we were building 5-Room Flats and Executive Flats. We were moving on to bigger and larger homes. In the 1990s, we demolished old small flats to build huge homes, today we are building 38sqm 1-Room flats masquerading as 2-Room Flats, this is surpassing.

Every generation government deteriorated. The most steep deteriorated during 3G leaders. 4th G will be worst.

Whether it is Mr. Chan Chun Sing, PM Lee or the PAP government, they didn't even do much they only inflate HDB flats prices and subsidise foreign students and Singapore PRs students education by giving them enrolment scholarships and bursaries.

Although Chan Chun Sing is the Education minister, he lost the race to become the next Prime Minister of Singapore. Chan chin sing implemented Home Based Learning just like Mr Lawrence Wong and he brought in foreign students, foreign workers and Singapore PRs just like the current PAP Government did so 5 or 6 years ago.

What did the PAP, PM Lee, Chan Chun Sing, Ms. Ng Ling Ling and Mr. Darryl David of Ang Mo Kio GRC did? Nothing much. Only every year give out $400 or $500 in GST Vouchers and some Water and groceries rebates or subsidies. In tangible aspects like education and healthcare the pap never even do much to improve the standards of the people or Singaporeans.

Post independent Singapore was already a thriving port that was supporting a vibrant trade hub under the British rule, and yet the PAP can change the narrative to Singapore being a backwater slum, with no hope of becoming a nation without them.

If not for the thriving trade, why would many of our parents and grandparents migrate to Singapore?

If not for the British, Singapore would not have any functional Court or Legal System to enforce Law & Order, no Shipbuilding & Rig-building expertise, no Military, no under-ocean or land telecommunications network, no Sea & Air ports, infrastructure etc.

Chan Chun Sing just like PM Lee should step down sooner or later, the PAP Government never do much for Singaporeans, they only give Singaporeans 400 or 500 in GST money per year and all the pap does is say or just a talk shop.
