I am an hourglass. Hourglass figures gain and lose weight evenly all over their bodies all other figure shapes gain and lose in specific areas. We are the last for others to really notice a 5-10 lb weight gain or loss. I have to gain or lose 15-20 lbs before someone makes a comment. My shoulders, bust and bottom are the same measurements and my waist is always 12" smaller no matter what weight I am. I am grateful to be an hourglass. Most of my friends are pears and apples. I wouldn't want to deal with gaining weight in my stomach or rear. My one pear friend has to change up her pant size if she gains 5 lbs. She is always complaining about it. I can gain 5 -10 lbs and still wear the same size pants!

I love that you actually know the difference between an hourglass and a pear. I've watched so many videos where people think it's the same thing and it's not! I've recently understood what looks good on my hourglass shape and what doesn't and these tips are so correct! Unfortunately I've had to get rid of a lot of clothes but at least now I'm buying the right things to fit my hourglass shape. Thanks for this video! ❤

I have a 41 bust, 31 waist, and 40 hips, and sometimes it can be really hard to find clothes that fit right! This was really helpful thank you. ❤

I have an hourglass frame and generally I wear fitted clothing as it does look the best on me….but should I decide to wear something less fitted I layer with a fitted tanks….generally I’m wearing a cropped sweatshirt or hoodie with loose fitting pants…but I wear a tight tank that shows at the perfect spot….looks good and super comfortable! Thanks for the video! ✌🏽❤️🇨🇦

I’m an hourglass with small bust (neat/bottom hourglass), my measurements: shoulders-bust-waist-hips: 37-33-25-37, I’m 5’3”. Wearing jeans is a real challenge, they’re too big on the waist and either fit nicely or too tight on hips. High waist/mid rise bootcut/flared/wide leg pants are perfect! For dresses I prefer bodycon/circle/A-line midi dresses sometimes wearing with belt. Love peplum, sometimes crop tops, waistcoats. I tend to avoid balloon/puff/cap sleeves

Thank you so much for this and the "find your personal style" videos. They have been very informative. The only celebrity that has a body shape similar to mine is Salma Hayek (although I am heaver than she is right now) Most celebrities and models are not as short as us. It is difficult to dress a petite hourglass shape and I am in my fifities so I have that added element to think about. I admit that for the last few years I have been wearing the oversized tops that hide my shape and make me look heavier. I kind of gave up. I am determined to change this and am thankful that I found your channel. I have been binge watching your videos. Based on the ones I have seen, I believe my personal style is romantic, minimal and edgy. I like boho and classy but know I need to keep it simple. I am actually laughing right now becuase the way I was dressing when I cared, was all over the place. I have a lot of useless (to me) clothes to get rid of and I need to do some shopping. Can I find information about your business on this youtube channel or do you have a website?

Thanks for the video -- looking forward to "How to Dress A Pear" :) Also, would you considering make on an accessories "capsule wardrobe" -- the basic accessory staples and what to look for?

The shoulders also play a big role. I'm a fleshy 5'2 frame with wide shoulders and hips, medium bust and small waist. If I dress for pear alone I lose my shape.

Basically none of the trendy styles of today work on us 😂 I look forward to a time when everything isn't oversized, and chic, feminine, form fitting clothes are cool again.

It almost seems like a political feminist statement now to not wear form fitting, feminine clothing, but I think hyperfemininity is gradually becoming its own statement of empowerment. We can just enjoy being traditionally womanly for ourselves and not specifically dress for men, but because it's easy for hourglasses to look "sexy" even while covered, people may assume we're always trying to get attention 😑

Thank you for your insightful video! I know since spring that I have an hourglass shaped body. Now I finally understand why my faves are my faves. And also why I don’t wear the other pieces as much. It’s because I still have many items that don’t work for my body type. The good news is that I’ll know what to look for moving forward ❤

Thank you for this video. Good information. I would love to see some more modest styles for those of us that prefer that. Could you please show some of those sometime for an hour glass shape?

It’s interesting that women often want this type but it’s the least common one? I am starting to see the differences between types. Now I can see why for example Kate Winslet is a different type from Scarlett Johansson. Thanks again for the info. 😊

i have 37 bust 33 waist and hips are 43.5 i have big square hips and broad shoulders so ima start dressing hourglass but it was hard to even find my body type/shape cus I feel like I fit the square shape as well because my shoulders are so broad and my hips are large and have a squareness to them; also i felt i fit the pear shape because my hips are so wide and my bust is small but that doesn't take my shoulders into account, but yeah im not sure
