Just imagine if the world was catching on fire and bombs were falling from the sky, you were sitting outside watching the fire spread closer to you but you weren’t scared or crying, you were happy because you were listening to this very sweet song that made you brave and not scared at all, and then it all went black.

I don't know whether to be horrified and sobbing, hesitantly happy and smiling, or just empty. This song is so visceral in how the human race being perceived by aliens is treated like some reality TV show with an awful script and how it makes sense. Everything is so complicated and dramatic and, much like reality TV, I never know who to root for. The world is messy and it scares me. Everything seems to be collapsing and it feels like we're powerless to stop it. We may only have a couple seasons more and that horrifies me, but it's not like humanity has nothing to offer. There's a lot of trashy bits, but there's also some good bits. This songs puts the same fear in me that I had when I was a young child and spontaneously had the thought that an asteroid could destroy us or the sun could explode. It also gives me the feeling I had after getting through brain surgery and feeling like I was brushing against death's hand. This is a beautiful song and I hate it. Sorry for getting personal.
