Kevin, if you take the arrest off the Daybreak drops too, the creture is no longer a legal target because it doesn't have "another aura" on it

Your Daybreak Coronet example doesn't work, btw, because Daybreak Coronet falls off when it's enchanted to an illegal target, aka a target that is not enchanted by any other enchantment anymore (Daybreak Coronet doesn't "count itself").

Daybreak coronet is there just because they didnt print it in Theros Block, but it was too strong there so they had to pull it back, thats why it has Brimaz in the art/flavor.

We had so far not had any experiences with this set, I think it is way to early to make judgement on if this is a good or bad limited experiences, so until you try it just keep your head down and calm down a little just going to need to wait for it to come out and then draft it to see if it is good or bad

The cards you are ramping into are all Mythic, wasting space to print lots of ramp spells for them would have been pointless and there is ramp in the form on the Eldrazi Spawn makers. I'm sorry but you are lost with #4.

Sealed decks are always garbage IMO, there are no set where I was happy with the decks I have done.

#5: the format in this one is waaaay slower, having those would just crush any of the other archetypes that WotC planned, if you dont like those archetypes thats another story.

#4: the ramp is there, but it is mainly in the consistence of bouncelands and the handful of manastones and eldrazi drones, it look still the amount they wanted for a slow draft format.

#3 the same amount of planeswalker that the first MM.

#2 the are tons of reprints, the fact that the exact ones that you wanted dont appear is something altogether, there are other than other players needed, serum visions is a fair point but they seem to just forget it or move it for other time, also remenber this set was probably designed just some time after the sales of modern master 2013 where noticed, and the price of most of those uncommon skyrocket after the pro tour of born of the gods, so they probably didnt have time or didnt notice the prices.

1 # Daybreak is a fair point, but seeing the art it seems they planned it for theros, but they didnt want it for standard, so they pushed it, it is silly.

I still think that this seems worse than the first MM, mainly because the draft format is grindy in place than sinergistic, and the price tag is just a little too much trying to play the lotto, but calling it a cash grab is a little too much.

Coronet falls off if you don't have another enchantment on it so if you kill the arrest the Coronet dies too lol

Actually, if you play Daybreak coronet on a creature with another aura attached to it (say arrest in Kevin's example) and then that aura (arrest) gets destroyed, coronet falls off because it is no longer enchanting a legal target. For coronet to stay attached, at all times the creature must have another aura attached to it. So Coronet is in fact just a 100% fail for limited. Nice reprint on an expensive rare though.

-No Metalcraft: Court Homunculus, Flayer Husk, Chimeric Mass, Everflowing Chalice, plenty of 2 mana stuff...
-No Ramp: Alloy Myr, Chalice, (Cathodion), Wayfarer's Bauble, Sphere of the Suns, Nest Invader, Kozilek's Predator, Noble Hierarch, Rampant Growth
-Lack of Planeswalkers: IN LIMITED??? what the f. are you talking about? Yes, there were 2 Planeswalkers in the previous Modern Masters set (Elspeth and Sarkhan). Exactly the same amount as in this set. And Tezzeret is good with this many artifacts.
-The C-UC argument is valid. That's a clear fail.
-Daybreak Coronet is purely a reprint targeted at the Modern format. Don't play it in limited.

Fun fact: Daybreak Coronet's enchant clause checks as a state-based action... As soon as you blow up arrest, Daybreak will fall off.

About the Daybreak Coronet: the coronet would actually fall of your Hearthfire Hobgoblin as well, as the restriction for what it can enchant continues to exist, even after it has already enchanted something. This means that as long as any creature fail to be enchanted by another aura besides daybreak coronet, it will always fall off. This means, in fact, that there is no scenario in limited at all where you are able to attack or block with a creature enchanted by Daybreak Coronet.

I drafted the set last week at an event at my LGS, made up my entry fee easily. Since most of the chase rares reprinted in MM2 were bulk in limited, and my table's full of people with large collections of modern staples and are aimed at actually winning the event, I got passed a bunch of high money cards, including a foil splinter twin, emrakul, mox opal, and a daybreak coronet, and I pulled a remand along with a primeval titan. I quit the event before we even started deckbuilding, sold the cards for store credit, and bought myself a playset of aether vials for my death and taxes deck

Daybreak Coronet would 'fall off' if it would be the only enchantment left on a creature. So not even Arrest + Kami of Ancient Law would work there...

The daybreak thing doesn't even work because once arrest falls off so would daybreak since it would be an illegal card to be attached to so you would really need a second cornet for that to work
