It seems many commenters are confused - the song was written and recorded back in the old days of System Of a Down. The vocals have been recorded like 25 years ago and Serj used the original recording to keep it authentic. He said in an interview that he can't really sound like this anymore.
I know, I know - I'd love to hear Serj scream like this again, but life is a waterfall and we're all not the same people as we were 25 years ago.

I don't know why most people still criticize Serj for his voice, he's been screaming like this for over 30 years, and he's in his mid 50's. SOAD sounded great at Sick New World this year, and now he's releasing stuff like this, old Serj is back.
