Next from Joe Jackson has to be Is She Really Going Out With Him. I won't spoil it. Just listen

This is a classic. I don't get how anyone wouldn't like this

Jay I’m surprised you didn’t like this one. I thought you’d appreciate the jazz chords and the mellow vibe. This is a “cruising at dusk in the summer with your shades on and with the windows down contemplating life” kind of song and vibe. I’ve always loved this one!

I really admire how Amber is willing to open her mind to new styles and genres of music and really appreciate the uniqueness of something different. You have true musical taste Amber

Jay & Amber, you’ll love his “Look Sharp”, "Is She Really Going Out with Him?" and “I’m The Man”!!!! (the bass on "I'm The Man" is Thumping!!)
I saw him in concert October 1990. New wave, rock, pop, jazz, he can do it all! Classically trained pianist.

I don't get how the husband does not like this song. Great jazz rhythm and great melody! And good lyrics. Scratching my head.

Joe Jackson's "Breaking Us in Two" released in 1982 was a hit.

I LOVE THIS SONG. It’s quintessential early 80’s. It is the vibe that changed it all. EMBRACE IT.

I adore Joe Jackson, his catalog is very diverse. I loved this song since I was a little kid. Is She Really Going Out With Him is a great second dip.

The more you listen to this song over years the more it will grow on you. My daughter is 29, close to your ages I think, and she plays many instruments that she taught herself to play since age 10. She says this song is a musical masterpiece because of it’s easy sound but actually it’s quite musically complex. She, as a fellow millennial/gen z, says listen to it more than once. Give it a chance. It will absolutely grow on you!

"We are young, but getting old before our time" that line hits hard as you age.

I LOVE this track. The groove and the atmosphere of this song takes me back to happy times and it's always stayed with me. The piano part is just fantastic, especially working off the synth bass part. Just magic.

Such a huge hit. I love all Joe Jackson's stuff especially "Is she Really Going out with Him" and his jazz stuff is great.

One of the best pop songs ever written, imo. The fast rhythm captures new york city night life and the keyboard playing is impeccable throughout. His biggest american hit!

This is my favourite Joe Jackson song! It was his highest charting song at #6 on the billboard charts back in 1982.

I love this song because it came out when I was leaving my childhood and emerging into adulthood. It was exciting and appealed to the aspirations that I had for my life going forward. Definitely hit the right tone for me.

Joe Jackson cannot be be put into any box, he was constantly evolving and pushing boundaries. He’s an absolute genius, do not write him off. The first two records are the 80s sound your looking for but honestly everything is he does is amazing. I recommend one day doing a triumvirate of songs by Elvis Costello, Graham Parker & Joe Jackson. Similar but different, catchy and intelligent… amazing stuff

I love that Amber gets it the same as I always did, the driving low-key beat with the bright piano and chimes across the top. There's a sense of anticipation and that subtle excitement when you're getting ready and heading out for a special evening. The video story is also a big portion of the appeal too. If you didn't like this then you will probably not like any of his other stuff.

I LOVE this song SO MUCH!! It feels like it used to be when you were going out at night, for dancing, fun, and shenanigans!! LOL!! When it comes to 80's music, there is no 'one vibe', which is what made it such a great era!
