Well let me be the first. "A dumb God" refers to one who doesn't speak to us. This song is basically Matt stepping down off of his soapbox. Matt made a Movie for this album just like he did for Infected. It was mainly directed by Tim Pope in and around NY. The video for this song starts with a heartfelt moment in a bar asking an elderly gentleman about the troubles of the world. From there we get a glimpse of Danny the Wonder pony and Annie Sprinkle doing her thing while the boys play and sing.

Another great song. It is nice when you step out of the prog/metal bubbles to listen to something different.

That sound is Johnny Marr on guitar with Wah-Wah pedal

Man this is a good one. Love Johnson's melodramatic timbre; it suits the sort of noir/theatre vibe that this album gives off. Some stellar harmonica as well from ol' Johnny.

Looking forward to your reaction to their big hit, Heartland! I absolutely loved that track as a teenager in the 80s - fabulous, quality production (those strings!) and rare for me lyrics that are clear, and yes, political..

I think this is my favourite from the album so far. Marr's input seems to come through rather more than it did on previous tracks.
Personally, I'm not a great fan of Johnson's singing, but it works fine on this song.
