The Pipez mod for Minecraft allows you to transport items, fluids, and energy from one or more locations to one or more other locations with a variety of filters, options, and speeds that can even be activated by a redstone signal. It's made with server health in mind and works at a very low impact level as well.

neat little mod. You didn't cover how it deals with full target containers, though. We have had some pipe mods that couldn't handle that gracefully, but don't know this one

I've watched Direwolf20 use this mod in several Let's Play series now. The base pipes move 4 items per second, the upgrades increase that exponentially, until the ultimate moves one stack per tick.
Also, if you remove the block a pipe is connected to, the pipe drops its upgrade. This means if you want to upgrade a barrel into an Ender Chest, for example, you'll have to put the correct upgrade back into the pipe (since the upgrades remember their filters).
I believe you can clear the filters in an upgrade by crafting it by itself. As usual, upgrades stack, but upgrades with filters set in them do not.

Thanks for that helpful overview. As always very nicely organized and presented. I would have liked to see a little more detail on the destination filtering. The details of how inverted interacts with black/white listing is non-obvious to a lot of people.

Those Ultimates are hefty expensive, but if you're doing a tech pack, they're worth it.
