Veterans Transition into the Civilian World
Показать описание
Participants will learn on Veteran’s transition into the Civilian world and how to engage with the Veteran’s Administration as a support and also community resources for Veterans
Meet the Speaker:
My name is Autumn Ray. I am a Veteran of the US Navy. I served as a Master-at-Arms which is also known as a Military Police. I was stationed overseas in London, England and then Jacksonville, Fl. Soon after I completed my service, I continued to work within the military life capacity as a Military Spouse but also Security Specialist for an Engineering Command on the Navy Base. Shortly after I received my Master’s Degree of Business I was offered a position in KCMO Employee Benefit Security Administration as a Federal Agent. But I was not satisfied and its funny when you’re not doing what you are called to do because life always has a way of reminding you that you are not living up to your potential. I had no idea that just a few short years later I would be entering into the field of therapy. I began my journey as a therapist at Hope House as an Intern, but also a survivor of Domestic Violence. Then I went to Cornerstones of Care to finish my Internship. Then was offered an amazing opportunity as a Contractor working with Tri-County Mental Health and now at Tri-County Mental Health as The Integrated treatment Therapist for Co-occurring Disorders, which I have really enjoyed.
