Top 10 Mid-sized Business ERP in 2022 | NetSuite Alternatives | Epicor Alternatives
Показать описание
Size is one of the most critical factors to identify the right solution and be successful with ERP implementation. While the opinions vary about the inflection points and how they impact a company’s need for ERP systems, there are four major groups, startup, small, mid-size, and large. The mid-size companies have revenue between $50 million - $1 billion. In fact, the mid-segment can further be segmented into two segments: 1) lower-mid and 2) upper mid.
The lower mid-segment has revenue between $50M-$250M whereas the upper mid-segment has revenue between $250M-$1B. These two segments require different levels of planning and have very different ERP needs. Unlike smaller companies, mid-size companies require more integration of their processes. They are getting their feet wet with planning and require the standardization of their processes and product mix.
They also have a much higher IT budget and experience with a team that has some experience in implementing large IT programs. In contrast with the large companies, the budget for mid-size companies is still limited and they can’t afford very expensive customizations or best-of-breed architecture. They need most of the functionality packaged as part of a couple of systems to meet their rudimentary planning needs.
The ERP systems designed for mid-market pre-package last-mile functionality. They might not be as mature with their planning and global financial capabilities. They might also not have as deep capabilities in managing global supply chain, global trade compliance, or financial workflows to meet the needs of larger companies.
So if you are responsible for evaluating an ERP system for a mid-sized business, you will discover hundreds of options. They all will appear similar in capabilities. They all will claim that they can do anything and everything. But make sure you are not buying the marketing hype printed on the marketing brochure. You need to go deeper and ensure that the functionality exists out-of-the-box.
So what are the factors you need to look at while reviewing ERP systems for mid-sized businesses? Are you simply looking at the feature sets? Do you need to pay attention to the size of the product? How about the technology and platform? That's exactly what we have discussed in this video.
We have analyzed the top 10 mid-sized business ERP systems based on several criteria, including their market share among mid-sized businesses, the alignment of acquisition strategy with the mid-sized businesses, the strength of their communities with mid-sized companies, and the depth of the cloud-nativeness of the solution, and much more.
