Guys, your five videos covering this game system was enough to convince me to pre-order these rules. Looking forward to their release on 18 Nov. There are several 'innovations' that really play well. I especially like how the heroes play. Well done. Really enjoyed watching you both play MHB. Thanks.

That first single combat between the heroes was straight out of a Bernard Cornwell novel! I'm not usually fond of "champion" fights like this in rules but I really like how it is handled here.

A very interesting set of rules: relatively simple mechanics and yet with nuanced decision-making at many points. Very nice! I'll definitely be giving these a serious look when released.

Fab. Addictive too! Can't wait for my copy to pop through the door. However, it would be remiss of me not to say, whenever I hear a wargamer say "these guys" I hear the common expression as used to refer to the mobsters in movies such as "Goodfellas" LOL

I truly like the lack of cascading panic tests. These so very often negate the tactics and game play of your other units and turns games into random arbitrary tests of pure luck. (Hail Caesar, I'm looking at YOU) The global reduction of reputation is a far more subtle and less binary way of resolving things. Indeed, rolls with binary results should not affect things beyond the local result in the game mechanics in my opinion.

The one thing I don't like is the overall Commander's command range being boosted by having joined a unit, this feels counter intuitive to me. I'd rather boost it by half a spear throw when he's on his own and not focused on leading a band personally.


But there's a lot to like in this system, I'm very happy with my pre-order of it!
