I worked for Bedfordshire council in commercial waste, let me tell you that all rubbish goes in ONE pile at the tip...this is a scam going on since 2000 at least to my knowledge.

Never admit culpability. Demand the full process of law be applied even if it means opting for trial by Jury. Make the process as lengthy and expensive as possible - demand everything in writing and question EVERY thing the Council claims. We can make their lives as miserable as they want to make ours.
