Recreating My Childhood Outfits: Is My Personal Style Still the Same?

Last week I analyzed the link between personal style and childhood, and how childhood shapes personal style. This time I’m recreating my childhood outfits to explore whether or not my personal style is influenced by what I used to wear as a kid, and whether or not my hypothesis was right. Do my childhood clothing preferences still resonate with my current style? Join me as I dig into the archives, put together some nostalgic outfits, and see if my style has evolved…or if it's been with me all this time.

You're one of my absolute favorite YouTubers, you can really see how much effort you put into all of the outfits, editing, and design for each video and this one is such a great example of that! (Genuinely can't believe you don't have a much larger following here). Your analysis is on point, and definitely something that rings true with my own experience with fashion. I was a skirt girly as a kid and I'm just now coming back around to them, but this video convinced me to pull mine out and make the effort to style them and it's so much fun! (also your cat is adorable <3)

omg, it's so fun to see your take on this!! These recreations are so good, and it seems like they really resonate with you :')

PS: to answer your brooch question, it is pronounced the "b." way!
As a native english speaker, I also find the line between brooches and pins confusing. I think brooches usually look more like jewelry, they're often made of metal and have gems (fake or real) in them, while pins are usually more casual and cheaper, made of plastic or enamel.

I can totally relate to your bug story. I never had that problem in my home country (Brazil), but once I went to a conference in Britain wearing a yellow coat and became a bug magnet. I don't even know what those tiny bugs are called, but they swarmed to my coat and stuck on it so hard, it looked like a pattern. It was ridiculous! Incidentally, you look great in red, but your smile when you wear what you do like is worth missing out on the red.

First of all, how cute you look in those outfits! Truly finnish fairy! 💙🤍

Oh, that 'tuulipuku' (I can't remember the english word right now) sent me back to past! :D I had that one of those as well, except in different colors. I eventually stopped wearing them because they were way too noisy. I feel much more comfortable in quieter fabrics.

Also, you're right about the late start about finding own style. I got pretty late start because I listened too much my parents and later my partner... I really started to blossom in this area after my divorce. Nowadays, I'm happy with a partner who doesn't want to change me nor my style 💖
