Not all three languages are written horizontally from left to right only. Japanese is written vertically from right to left too. It's actually more common to see books and comics written vertically while people tend to write horizontally, especially after the birth of computers that adapted to their language. Chinese can also be written vertically, but it has more to do with traditional writing and signs.
