I saw the announcement and told him “hey dad, look at the reboot” I swear he at first didn’t react until dread slowly spread through his face as he realized what he was looking at, and his whispered “Lion-O, what have they done to you?” In utter devastation

My mom was so hyped when I asked her out of the blue if she wanted to watch ThunderCats (she grew up with the old cartoon). When she saw that it was the 2011 series, she was hooked. Panthro was her fav character too. To this day, she still asks if it got the Young Justice treatment.

I loved the 2011 version of thundercats I really wish it didn't get cancelled because it stopped with the worst cliffhanger. Edit: I do wish this version would come back to have a proper ending.

I felt that way when that entire block of cartoons was cancelled and replaced with Teen Titans Go. I heard the show was funny, but they got rid of Thundercats, Green Lantern and Young Justice for it. Granted, I was a grown man watching this so it might seem petty. But I grew up watching Batman: TAS and X-Men, which kids loved despite the heavy concepts.

I enjoyed the 2011 show but what I first saw the ad on cartoon network. Oh boy I went through the five stages of grief the whole ad. I was in disbelief. HOW COULD THEY DO THAT!

Sometimes kids need to have a traumatic cartoon to get them thinking right. Roar and Go are not good examples they're too goofy and even the good message just gets thrown out the window with more nonsense. I remember being a kid and watching Slade manipulated Robin so hard he thought he was fighting him when it was nobody. That shit shook me, never let anyone manipulated me ever.

As someone who watched the original my parents got me a dvd of it god I loved it I don’t know if it holds up today but damn I remember liking it

I'll take 2011 than Roar any day. It amazes me how toy sales were the underlying deciding factor to the fate of 2011 being cancelled. I mean it's understandable that animation is not cheap, and merch keeps the bills paid, but it's sad to know so many great animations will never be complete and leave the rest of us who were committed to the show utterly lost without closure.
