A really brief stream from this morning on Vector Displacement I did on Discord just showing a method for making the pie case from my Fruit Tart shader and also a tip on steep sided extrusions without shearing the geometry. Just remember, Map Range is your heavy lifter!

The reason that I had to move that 0-0.1 section up by 0.2 in order to flatten the base it because the Sphere has a diameter of 2m. So 0.1 on the generated coordinate space is 10% which works out as 0.2m. So it's not always double, it's just with these 2m diameter spheres that that happens to be the case. Hopefully this doesn't cause confusion!

This tutorial is like a window, allowing us to look into the brain of a genius. Fascinating! Absolutely fascinating! As an older guy learning Blender, I so enjoy watching your tutorials. Without doubt, you are by far, my favourite Blender channel. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. This technique is truly fascinating! THANK YOU! Dg

Where is the setting for smooth noodles? I feel that is the only thing holding me back. That and possibly math. And knowing what all the operators do. And patience. Also inspiration.

11:50 Flan-tins are 'fluted'... Appreciate your great content, and understand your need to monetise, but the ad-rate on this one nearly bust my head. I'll check out the next couple of episodes... but... I'm not sure I can handle the pain.
