Hi Lil, really enjoying your comments and thoughts on Agatha Christie's books. I'm a huge fan of Patricia Wentworth's Miss Silver series. Subscribed to your channel now thanks advice again, kind regards

For Poirot, I'd also recommend:

Lord Edgware Dies / Thirteen at Dinner: a minor nobleman is murdered, his wife was seen to enter the house right before he died--but thirteen people also saw her on the other side of London at the same time.

The ABC Murders: Poirot takes on a serial killer.

Cards on the Table: Four people sit down to play bridge. A fifth person sits across the room by the fireplace. At the end of the evening, the man by the fire is dead. One of the four bridge players has gotten up and killed him, and the other three were too busy playing to notice.

Death on the Nile: The closest to Greek tragedy I've seen her come.

So happy you did this video! The only Poirot book I've read was the Mysterious Affair at Styles and I remember when the reveal happened, I was on a train going back from uni to visit my parents, and I just gasped so loudly. She's such an incredible author and Poirot is such a great character. My plan is to go through the books chronologically, as I've only read the first one (so going in order seems logical) and you have just made me so so excited to read the rest of this series!!

(also let's just take a moment to appreciate how gorgeous those editions are. I can't wait to have all the Harper editions lined up together on a bookcase somewhere ^.^)

What a great selection of her works. You really managed to give the gist of the plots without any spoilers which is great! I'm loving this revival Agatha Christie's having at the moment, it's great to see more and more people picking up her books.

I love these Poirot books, too! My other Poirot favorites are Hickory Dickory Dock, Peril at End House, Halloween Party, Cat Among the Pigeons, After the Funeral, The Hollow and Dumb Witness :D I still prefer the Miss Marple series to Poirot, but...well, ALL Agatha Christie books are amazing! I totally agree that the David Suchet movie of 'Five Little Pigs' is soo good! Also, the 'Sad Cypress' movie is great, too!

I think in your description of Murder on the Orient Express, you describe the importance of rereading books! You can always get more out of a book and connect with it more deeply when you reread, which I am guilty of not doing often enough! I'll be sure to pick up The Mysterious Affair at Styles next. Thanks for the tips!

Hi Lil. Love your channel and your vintage style. I've really got into David Suchet as Poriot. I've watched a lot of them and now want to start reading them. I'm going to start with Orient Express, then Death on the Nile, ABC Murders and see where I go after that. Do you prefer those paperback editions? Who does the best hardback editions? I'd like to get some of those too. Look forward to seeing more videos. Xx

I love this video. For my birthday I specifically asked for Agatha Christie books and I was happy because someone actually gave them to me. I was given Murder on the Orient Express, And Then There Were None and The Mysterious Affair At Styles. And so far I have really enjoyed them. I prefer to hear the audiobook because there were times were I got stuck on words or things like that but they were great.

I love her novels, The Big Four and The Secret Adversary reminded me of a 20/30s versions of the Da Vinci code.
