Whitney. you have given me so very much helpful sewing information. I would like to share with you a stain removal tip for your marinara sauced white metra blazer (just in case you have not disposed it.) Launder the garment as usual, remove from the washing machine and dampen the stained area with a little more water then rub the stain with an Ivory soap bar, leaving a film of soap on the garment. Hang to dry. Rinse out the soap when the garment is dry, re-apply another soap film and repeat the air drying. It may take 3 or 4 times for the stain to disappear. With patience and a little effort you may find success with this method. (I have removed both tomato sauce and yellow mustard stains, even on garments that were originally washed then dried in the dryer before the stain was noticed.)

The dress is so nice looking. I’ve been in sewing room but not getting much done. I get very tired very quickly. Next week temperatures up in 50’s so I’ll be out doing a lot of walking to build up my endurance.

The color, style & print is very flattering on you!!
My tip on running elastic thru the casing is to baste all the seam allowances down & then remove the basting....it saves a lot of time & frustration.

I gather by zigzagging over heavy thread and have always been perfectly happy with the results. I’ve never minded gathering. Maybe because my first project in 4-H was a gathered skirt, and the next was a fitted zippered dress with a gathered skirt. So I was programmed to gather from the beginning.
