When he be the caliph he gave yahya all the power so yahya and his family start giving them family highly positions maybe this is one of the big reasons.
After he dead this is not a downfall of the empire one of the things that will barely down the empire he gave his three sons the thrown prince, after he died..normally they start fighting..etc
