I took my son couple years ago to gather Possum grapes to make jelly. We gathered a bunch ! He had extendable limb lopper and I had the fishing net... he cut and I caught with the net . lol Then I tested him to see if he could tell the difference between a possum grape and a poke berry ... he passed. I too am in Okla. I want to learn how to forage mushrooms. oh I took my Jelly to a family reunion where we have an auction to pay for reunion the next year, my jelly caused a bidding war ! lol

I grew up in east central OK and me and my pals often ran across these while squirrel hunting. If they were ripe we ate them. Great flavor. Everybody called them possum grapes.

possum grapes make the best jelly you have got to cut the juice 50% taste like plum and grape mix
