Today we're seeing how well (or not) the AMD Athlon 3000G handles Battlefield 2042 with and without a discrete graphics card.

Thanks for watching :)

I swear the 3000G is gonna hunt RGHD in his sleep one day if he keeps stressing it

I really appreciate these short sub 5 min videos. Fun little bits of content.

Random gaming should be tried to the fullest extent of the law in pc gaming court for gaming wrecklessly.

the fact that the 300G actually STARTED the game is impressive in its own right

3000G is hands-down, one of the best processors that aged so well. can't wait to check out the future generation of this lineup!

Downloading the Beta now!!!! I'm so excited! I couldn't afford BF2, I was only able to play the free multiplayer demo "Gulf of Omen" map. So I never got to play BF 2142.

I think it's about time that the 3000G is put out to pasture, at least for newer AAA games. 3200G is probably the lowest APU to get by at 30 FPS with low/medium settings

Edit: I stand corrected, 3400G should be the minimum going forward, with this game in particular the 3200G can't maintain 30 FPS at 720p low while the 3400G can, the 3200G also suffers greatly for only having 4 threads. 3400G at 720p low and FSR forced via Lossless Scaling or Magpie would be okay, not for competitive play of course but I doubt anyone would expect that with an APU

That's better than I thought—I was expecting hangs and locks, where you'd periodically get <1 FPS.

You are doing this chip a disservice by not overclocking it. Thats one of its main selling points. You even made a video a while back about how much better it was overclocked. I know your B450 motherboard died but to give it a fighting chance you need to overclock it and use 3600mhz cl16 ram. Doing that took my timespy graphics score from low 400’s to mid 600’s. Longtime subscriber and I love your channel. Keep up the good work.

When you are down,
You just gotta enjoy what you do have.
I would definitely say it’s doable!
I played Warzone on a Laptop and it was just as fun.

I have to admit, that was actually quite amusing ;)

It is appreciated that the RTX 3060 was added into the mix for this test, I always wondered how things would've gone had somebody paired an Intel 4160 and a 1080 Ti together and this is roughly what I would've expected out of a similarly performant "What if?" bottleneck; the 4160 was my main runner from Christmas Eve of 20I5 to December 0I0 of 20I8, the Athlon 3000G roughly matches it at Stock (give or take 05 to 09%, in certain scenarios) and it's astounding that AMD has managed to keep this level of CPU performance relevant on the Low End.
Overclocked numbers definitely would've been interesting to take a look at here, given that a 04 GHz tuning can see some noticeable improvements for certain titles and put it closer to an Intel 6100, on average; while the numbers won't be all too high, it's at least nice to experiment with, it'll be interesting to witness how future Dual Core Multithreaded chips will be able to scale and wishfully we'll get a proper Swan Song on this type of CPU before Hybrid Architectures start adding more threads (in this case, Efficiency Cores) to make current Low End options irrelevant.

2:20 perfect analogy. xD
By the way, your voice is very similar to other youtuber, The Gaming Merchant. At first I even thought it was your other channel.

The beauty of PC gaming is that you can play any game on a weak machine (with old GPU (or iGPU) and CPU) by adjusting graphical options for an acceptable framerate. This is especially suitable for those, who enjoy the game for gameplay and story, but not for the best possible picture quality

I use to play call of duty world at war for hours at 6fps on integrated graphics. You should be more grateful calling 17fps unplayable, I would have wept if I ever got that performance back then.

But now I game at 1440p 144fps, and I wouldn't ever be able to go back but that's the point, if this is all you know or you just use it long enough to get use to it, it starts feeling normal, you anticipate the delay of your actions and time them right. I was the best 6fps cod player you've ever seen
