I don't think 7-11 is lying, I think Eater and TikTokers got caught up in the excitement of the announcement and didn't do any homework. They saw the announcement, then saw milk bread and instantly assumed OMG JAPANESE SANDWICH IS HERE. I saw the Eater article and was like huh, the sandwich looks the same but they changed the bread I guess? Even in NYC we have the egg salad sandwiches on milk bread, and there's either no news on it because it's not news. Unless they released the sandwiches already and this is what we're getting, which would be incredibly sad, I don't think the sandwiches are here yet. I got one out of skepticism, knowing full well that it shouldn't be here yet. And yea, it tastes nothing like the Japanese sandos, but I never had the old egg salad sandwich here for comparison because why would I eat a 7-11 egg salad sandwich lol.

Well, the Hawaiian 7 -11s should have them. They are the only stores under the Japanese franchise, rather than the US franchise, from what I hear.

As for the sandos, everyone should be aware that this is what the Japanese call sandwiches, its not cringe, or weird, its the word people in Japan use.
