Why is it that the first thing people say about KLK is the fanservice and how objectifying it is? The partial nudity and revealing of skin is all a theme and it happens to everyone. The point of the show is that we should be free under our own skin and they use nudity as a motif for that. Yes they wear those kinds of outfits but the right to wear those outfits and what it means when they wear them is completely up to them and they don't care about what the people around them think about it. There are guys in the background that say "hey she's sexy" and Ryuuko doesn't give a damn cus she's about to open a full can of whoop ass.This is shown more and more as the anime progresses because it shows Ryuko becoming comfortable and less embarrassed, which would give the statements power over her. You can see it in her face she doesn't give not even 1/2 a damn. Honestly, its like anytime people see a girl showing too much of this its fanservice and sexualizing and bad for women. When in reality we should look at the piece as a whole and examine the aims of the "nudity" before jumping over to the fanservice boat. Could it just be fanservice? If you think so. But it definitely does make a statement that a lot of people deny it to do. Why is it that we can't try to look at it as an attempt to make a proud statement? Why is it that we can't think for just a second that maybe, just maybe it is us, even the feminists out there against KLK, who have created the sexualization of characters in KLK just because Ryuuko shows too much skin? Maybe we are doing to studio Trigger in forms of both bashing and excitement for "fanservice"what the characters did to Ryuuko when she wears her outfit.
